Convenience, Security and so Many Options
The LiensNC online service collects payments via secure transactions. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Electronic Checks (ACH) are the accepted payment methods.
If an electronic check is returned, a notification will be sent to LiensNC and a reversal of the transaction will take place. It will then be the responsibility of those in charge of LiensNC to collect from the user on the transaction.
Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) Compliant as a Level I Service Provider - Adherence to performance measurements outlined in the PCI DSS annual self evaluation, as well as submission to regular scans from Security Metrics to search for network vulnerabilities.
Secure Sensitive Information Submissions - All sensitive information submitted during online transactions from LiensNC are sent via encrypted network protocols.
Secure Internal Networks - All data transferred between LiensNC databases is done via secure network protocols to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and no one can intercept data.
Data Storage Policies - Unless necessary, LiensNC does not permanently store financial information so that it cannot be retrieved or compromised.
Secure Policies and Procedures - Password and network activity audits are performed regularly.
Physical Location Security - All physical locations where hardware and software are located are physically secured and only accessible by individuals with proper authorization.
There are essentially two options in the system that have a cost associated with them:

- Appointment of Lien Agent ($30 for 1-2 Family Dwelling & $58 for Other per transaction)
- 'Track This' Notification Request ($5 per transaction)
