Saying it is one Thing, but Proving it is Another
COMMON MISCONCEPTIONSFilers can sometimes get confused about how to show proof that they filed the Appointment of Lien Agent. (i.e. proof of MLA) Don't fall victim of the common misconceptions about proving the MLA has been appointed.

DIRECTIONS
Follow these steps to show proof that an Appointment of Lien Agent has been filed for the project:
Step 1
Locate the Appointment of Lien Agent filing.
Step 2
Once the project is located, select the printer icon located below the Entry Number.
Locate the Appointment of Lien Agent filing.
- FOR THE FILER: On your History page, you should see a blue Entry Number for each of your submitted filings. (The most recent filing should be located on top.)
- FOR EVERYONE ELSE: The Owner should provide you with the project Entry Number so that you can perform an Entry Number Search. Alternatively, you can perform an Advanced Search using other project information. LEARN MORE ABOUT SEARCHING
Step 2
Once the project is located, select the printer icon located below the Entry Number.
Selecting the print icon will advance you to the Project Details page.
Step 3
If you are not immediately prompted with the popup window print option, select the Print Appointment button located at the bottom of the page.
Once your browser print option opens, choose the number of copies you want and select Print.

We suggest making three copies of the project details:
- One for the inspections office (if obtaining a building permit),
- One to post at the job site,
- And one for your records.
IMPORTANT: Proof of Lien Agent is required to be continuously posted at the job site.
